Use the owner's name as it appears on the appraisal notice. That is the name that goes on the Appointment of Agent form.
What happens next
The Fortress agreement, sent for electronic signature, and the Appointment of Agent for Property Tax Matters (Comptroller Form 50-162). Both are signed online in a few minutes.
The signed appointment lets our attorneys protest in your name. The attorney handling your case is one of the owners of Fortress, and you will know their name from day one. We pull the district's evidence, build ours, and file before the deadline.
We argue the protest at the Appraisal Review Board and, if we believe there are still possible savings, file in district court under the same fee arrangement — no fee unless we win.
What you are signing
Our fee is a share of what we save you, at the protest or in court. No reduction, no fee. Everything else is in plain English on the agreement itself.
The state-promulgated form every appraisal district requires before anyone can act for an owner. It names Fortress as your agent for property tax matters and nothing else. You can revoke it at any time.
Pick a time with one of our protesting attorneys, or call.
